How do I do intermittent testing? Intermittent fault detection is available on the AudioJoG and AudioJoG Rack testers from 3 to 8.
As the test compares actual connections found against a stored set of connections it is necessary to first store the cable details using the method described in the manuals. Once stored, with the MEMORY LED lit, simply press and hold the test button until the the MEMORY LED starts to flash. Release the test button and you will see all the LEDs associated with the connector pins glow slightly dimmer than normal. The test keeps going until a fault is found so that the cable under test can be bent, shaken etc. Once the test stops due to a fault, pressing the test button or unplugging the cable the test will return to the previous state and to start it again you will need to repeat the step above.

How do I remove the MEMORY option? If you have used the MEMORY option on one of our tester with LED indicators you will see the yellow LED lit when you switch ON. To clear the MEMORY simply press and hold the test button down until the MEMORY LED goes out.
If the tester has a alphanumeric ( LCD ) display please follow the instructions in the manual for that tester.

How does the MEMORY work in the RibbonJoG mkII tester? The MEMORY option only works with non standard cables. If you are testing a standard ribbon cable the tester will automatically stop at the end of the cable and the PASS LED will be on.
If you want to test a non-standard cable then plug it in and press the TEST button. The test will naturally fail as the cable will not be reconised as a standard cable. Press and hold the test button until the MEMORY LED comes on. After this the cable will be automatically tested against whats held in MEMORY.

How does the MEMORY work on the AudioJoG testers?
The MEMORY feature works the same in all the AudioJoG cable testers Pro3,5,8 and Rack 8.
With a known good cable plugged in, step through the connections as normal. When the test reaches the last LED, usually the Remotes Shield, press and hold the test button until the MEMORY LED comes on. After this the cable will be automatically tested against whats held in MEMORY.
