Questions on the AudioJoG range of testers

Can I test a 3 pin XLR to 1/4" Jack (TRS) cable?

Yes. You can test a cable with any connector that fits the tester from one side ( either Local or Remote ) to the other. Plugging the cable into just one side will result in no connections being found.

Does it do a PAT test?

No. Currently all our testers only do low voltage continuity testing on the cable.

I don't need one of the connectors on your tester can I get it without?

Maybe, some connectors can be removed and the remaining holes blanked off. You will not be saving any money by asking for this as it will almost certainly involve taking a finished product and removing the not required connectors. Custom tester are made but they are much more expensive than the stock testers. Please contact us for further details.

What is the difference between the AudioJoG Pro 8's?

The only differences are the two connectors on the top and bottom of the front of the tester.
The AudioJoG Pro 8 has a pair of  Speakon NL4's and Speakon NL8's.
The AudioJoG Pro 8 power has a Powercon inlet and outlet and a pair of Speakon NL8's.
The AudioJoG Pro 8 mobile has  a Powercon inlet and outlet and a pair of Speakon NL4's.
All the other connectors are the same and the testers operation is identical.

Why are your Audio cable testers much more expensive than similar testers.

Firstly by similar testers you mean testers with similar connectors and two rows of LED with a switch. Our testers only use high quality connectors. Although the testers do have two rows of LEDs and a switch they are not just wired to a battery. Each tester has a microprocessor controlling each LED in the tester. The switch is not just a rotary switch linking LEDs to a battery. The test switch simply tells the microprocessor to move on to the next step. At each step the microprocessor reads all the connections found and stores them temporarily. At the end of the test these results can be stored more permanently to be used as a reference against which cables can be checked very quickly. All our Audio testers can be put into intermittent test mode where the tester keeps repeating the test rapidly looking for any sudden shorts or opens. All our testers are made in the United Kingdom.
